While I’m really not much of a “trend” person when it comes to my wardrobe, I can’t help but love some of these seasons pieces. I’m trying to find a happy medium when shopping for the warmer weather, which is, mixing the trends with items that are still neutral and somewhat timeless. Normally when I buy clothes I try to think of at least 3 different ways I can wear it (or if it’s professional enough to wear to work, that is a bonus as well).
1. Mules/Slides
I absolutely love mules, they’re comfy and cool and easy to put on/take off (minimal effort while dressing is a selling point for me). I’d pair these with light frayed jeans, a dress, a skirt, literally anything.
I’ve yet to purchase a pair because my heart is with the infamous fur Gucci mules here. These are definitely out of my price point, so I’ve found more friendly alternatives here and here.
2. Frayed Denim
Normally, I make every excuse to not wear jeans, but a light wash with frayed ends were to adorable to not pass up. I usually pair mine with a more polished top to make it clean enough to wear to work. Think, a grey v-neck and a loose olive green blazer. My pair is from Banana Republic. Topshop has a very cute pair, and if you want to really splurge, Good American’s pair aren’t too bad either.
3. Embroidery
This just makes me think of the 90’s and Lisa Frank and I’m allowing myself to feel all the feels. Like I said earlier, I like to meet in the middle with trends and my personal style, so while there are skirts and jean jackets with embroidered flowers/greenery, I incorporate the trend into my wardrobe via the cutest TopShop clutch shown below:
I got this for Christmas, and as of now, it’s sold out. But here are some cute alternatives at Nordstrom & Revolve.
